La '''Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos''' es una declaración adoptada por la [[Asamblea General]] de las [[Naciones Unidas]] el 10 de diciembre de 1948. La Declaración emergió directamente desde la experiencia de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y representa a la primera expresión de derechos a cuales todos seres humanos tienen derecho. Consiste de 30 artículos que han sido expandidos en diferentes tratados internacionales, instrumentos de derechos humanos, constituciones nacionales y leyes. La Carta Internacional de los Derechos Humanos incluye tanto la Declaración como el Covenento Internacional de Derechos Económicos, Sociales y Culturales y el Covenento Internacional de Derechos Civiles y Económicos y sus dos Protocolos Opcionales.

==Conmemoración: Día Internacional de los Derechos Humanos==
El día 10 de diciembre cada año se conoce como Día de los Derechos Humanos, y marca la adopción de la Declaración Universal.
